Made in Denmark, the Borkum Riff Original is one of the least heavily flavored in the range. It can be recommended for beginners, as it is an excellent entry point into the world of pipe tobacco: reasonably flavored, it smokes easily, has little or no sting, and does not clog the pipe too much. It can also satisfy seasoned smokers who want a shimmering tobacco for those around them, without harming their mouth. A good compromise.
